Germany has been selected as the host country for EURO 2024, following the decision made at a UEFA Executive Committee meeting in Nyon on 27 September 2018. Among the nations bidding to hold the 17th edition of the UEFA European Championship, Türkiye was the only other contender. While West Germany previously hosted the tournament in 1988, this will mark the first time Germany has organized the UEFA European Championship since reunification. It is worth noting that Germany also hosted the 2006 FIFA World Cup.
Schedule for UEFA EURO 2024
The final tournament of UEFA EURO 2024 is set to occur from 14 June to 14 July 2024. The group stage will continue until 26 June, and the knockout stage will commence on 29 June.
Germany, being the host nation, has been placed in Group A and will hold position A1. Consequently, they will participate in the opening match against Scotland at the Munich Football Arena on Friday, 14 June. Germany, or previously known as West Germany, has been a part of every EURO tournament since 1972. West Germany emerged victorious in the 1972 and 1980 editions, while the reunified Germany triumphed in EURO ’96.

The top two teams from every final tournament group will advance to the round of 16, as well as the four highest-ranked third-place finishers:

Which teams have qualified for the EURO tournament?
The draw for the final tournament was held in Hamburg on Saturday 2 December.

Group B: Spain, Croatia, Italy, Albania
Group C: Slovenia, Denmark, Serbia, England
Group D: Poland*, Netherlands, Austria, France
Group E: Belgium, Slovakia, Romania, Ukraine*

NOTE: The format will remain identical to that of UEFA EURO 2020. The round of 16 will consist of the top two teams from each of the six final tournament groups, as well as the four third-placed finishers with the best performance.
Host cities for EURO 2024
The tournament will be held in ten venues, nine of which were used during the 2006 World Cup, along with the addition of the Düsseldorf Arena. Notably, the Munich Football Arena will host matches for the second consecutive EURO, as it was one of the 11 arenas used during UEFA EURO 2020.
