Quarterback Jordan Love successfully completed 20 of 27 passes, amassing 229 yards and throwing two touchdown passes for the Packers. Running back Josh Jacobs contributed significantly, rushing for 94 yards and scoring a touchdown.
For the Seahawks, Geno Smith completed 15 of 19 passes for 149 yards but was intercepted before exiting the game in the second half due to a knee injury.
After winning the coin toss and opting to receive, the Packers executed a 63-yard drive over 10 plays, culminating in a 1-yard touchdown run by Jacobs. Following a quick punt from the Seahawks, Green Bay extended its lead to 14-0 with an 80-yard drive that took just eight plays.
The teams exchanged field goals on their subsequent drives. However, a red zone interception by Smith allowed the Packers to add another field goal just before halftime, resulting in a 20-3 advantage at the break.
The second half was marked by a series of turnovers from both teams, including a turnover on downs by the Packers. The game’s dynamics shifted during the third quarter when Smith left the field after sustaining a leg injury on an incomplete pass. He was replaced by Sam Howell, who struggled, completing only five of his 14 attempts.
In the latter stages of the game, both teams managed to score a field goal and a touchdown in the third and fourth quarters, respectively, although the outcome had already been determined.
Despite the offense scoring 30 points, the Green Bay defense may have been the standout unit. The Packers recorded seven sacks and two interceptions, effectively neutralizing Seattle’s quarterbacks.
With this victory, Green Bay improved to a record of 10-4. After an initial 2-2 start, the Packers have triumphed in eight of their last ten contests, with their only defeats occurring against divisional rivals. Their four losses were inflicted by the Detroit Lions (twice), the Minnesota Vikings, and the Philadelphia Eagles, who collectively hold a record of 35-6.
The Packers are set to face the New Orleans Saints on December 23.
Meanwhile, the Seahawks have fallen from the top position in the NFC West and are now outside the playoff picture. The Los Angeles Rams have taken the lead in the division due to a head-to-head tiebreaker.
Attention will now focus on Smith’s status, as Seattle prepares for a challenging matchup against the 11-2 Vikings in Week 16.
In a contest featuring Super Bowl contenders, the Buffalo Bills emerged victorious against the Lions with a score of 48-42. Buffalo’s quarterback and MVP frontrunner, Josh Allen, showcased his exceptional form by throwing for 362 yards and two touchdowns, in addition to rushing for 68 yards and two touchdowns. He has made history as the first player in NFL history to achieve two passing touchdowns and two rushing touchdowns in consecutive games, as well as the first to accomplish this feat three times within a single season. Meanwhile, Detroit’s quarterback, Jared Goff, delivered an impressive performance, passing for 494 yards and five touchdowns.
- The Eagles triumphed over their in-state adversary, the Pittsburgh Steelers, with a score of 27-13, marking their tenth consecutive victory. Philadelphia’s quarterback, Jalen Hurts, who previously achieved two separate winning streaks of 11 games during the 2021-22 and 2022-23 seasons, has now become only the fifth quarterback since 1950 to record three winning streaks of ten games in his career. Despite the defeat, the Steelers managed to secure a playoff berth due to losses incurred by the Indianapolis Colts and Miami Dolphins in Week 15.
- In another matchup, the Kansas City Chiefs emerged victorious against the Cleveland Browns with a score of 21-7; however, they may face a setback as star quarterback Patrick Mahomes is reported to have sustained a high ankle sprain during the fourth quarter, rendering him week-to-week. The back-to-back Super Bowl champions, currently holding a record of 13-1, are scheduled to play on Christmas Day and have two games lined up within the next ten days.
