Detroit Lions Triumph Over Los Angeles Chargers 41-38 in NFL Week 10 Matchup.

The Detroit Lions outlasted the Los Angeles Chargers in a shootout, with both teams trading late-game field goals until Riley Patterson delivered a game-winning 41-yard field goal in the final seconds to bring Detroit to 7-2 on the season.

The Lions offense was clicking in all areas this week, with Jared Goff throwing for 333 yards and two touchdowns and the run game doing substantial damage early in the game. David Montgomery returned to the lineup after missing two games due to a rib injury, and while his running mate Jahmyr Gibbs took over goalline duties, he found ways to be productive by ripping off a 75-yard touchdown run. Montgomery gained 116 yards on 12 carries during the day.As usual, Amon-Ra St. Brown was Goff’s primary receiving weapon, leading the team with 156 yards on eight grabs.

The Chargers got off to a shaky start with an early Justin Herbert interception, but he steadied the ship the rest of the way, completing 27 of 40 passes for 323 yards and four touchdowns.Keenan Allen was outstanding once again, catching 11 passes for 175 yards and two touchdowns on 14 targets. Allen exited the game before scoring his second touchdown due to a shoulder injury, but he appeared to be alright when he returned for a 38-yard touchdown reception.Austin Ekeler rushed for 67 yards and punched in a touchdown while also catching four passes for 48 yards.

Defensive spotlight: Defense was optional for both teams this week, as neither side recorded a single sack. Kerby Joseph had the lone turnover, intercepting Herbert on a ball intended for Gerald Everett in the first quarter.

Rookie spotlight: Jahmyr Gibbs showed off his skill early and frequently in this game, carrying the ball 14 times for 77 yards and scoring twice in the first half. Gibbs also had three catches for 35 yards, giving him more over 100 all-purpose yards on the day.

Quentin Johnston scored his first NFL touchdown with the Chargers trailing by a touchdown and facing fourth-and-one from the one-yard line. On fourth down, Johnston got a major defensive pass interference penalty to keep the drive alive. Along with his touchdown, the rookie first-round pick concluded the day with four catches for 34 yards.
